Another Dancing with the Stars Outspoken Christian

Recently watched the season finale of the fall 2014 edition of Dancing with the Stars and was quite impressed with Miss Sadie Robertson, of Duck Dynasty fame. Since I'm not a follower of the DD show, I was not aware what an outspoken Christian Sadie was, but she definitely let her light shine on this show. Not only was she an excellent dancer/student, coming in 2nd place, but she was very outspoken about her devotion to our God, and also followed a previous Christian contestant's modesty rules by keeping relatively covered up. Wow, what an amazing example to young women everywhere, as opposed to what we usually see with the likes of the Kardashians, etc.  Here is one article in the secular news about this young lady.

Acts 4:29

29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness...

Every day with you, Lord, is sweeter than the day before

A friend passed this story to me. I was amazed by this man's character. Finally, a positive story about an NFL football player.  It is definitely something you do not see often in this world. Take a look here.

Proverbs 3:9-10

Honor the Lord with your wealth
    and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
10 then your barns will be filled with plenty,
    and your vats will be bursting with wine.

"God, get me out me out of here!"

A side story of an incredible inferno of fire this week in Houston from a burning apartment complex (the 5-alarm fire could be seen for miles): a construction worker was rescued who said that he told God, ‘God, save, me get me out of here,” and "Thank you, Jesus!" when He did. A woman filming the burning building spotted him and was also talking to God about his rescue....click here to see the story.

Psalm 46:1-2
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.

Let Them Praise His Name With Dancing

Wow, the righteous are as bold as a lion, and that's tough in Hollywood. Imagine my delight when I saw on Dancing with the Stars that one of this season's competitors, Candace Cameron Bure, a former child star of the TV sitcom, Full House, made this statement about her participation in the show:

“I’m a Christian, my life revolves around my relationship with Jesus Christ, so with the overall tone of the dance, the costumes, I’m not going to take a backseat, my voice will definitely be heard,” she said.

God bless her. We need more Christians like her who are serious about their relationship with Jesus.

Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

"All Praises and Honor to God Almighty for Jesus"

Wow, this was a shocker.  Rihanna's mom presenting Rihanna with the first-ever Icon Award at the 2013 AMAs, which reportedly had 12.9 million viewers.  Her mom starts off by saying the following in front of those millions of people watching and hearing:

"First of all, I'd like to say, all praises and honor be to God Almighty for Jesus."

Yes, praise God indeed! Click here.

Deuteronomy 32:3
I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

No Match for the Name Above Every Name

I love this story. There's power in the Name of Jesus. On Yahoo News, read about a very happy ending to a gun-wielding robber by saying the name of Jesus. Click here.

Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
    and gave him the name that is above every name,

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
    in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
    to the glory of God the Father.

"The trick of the devil"

Another pro athlete talking boldly about his relationship with his God. Ravens linebacker, Ray Lewis, this time, talking about the tricks of the enemy. Click here.

John 10:7-10
Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

"I Had Faith in God"

Another story of a plane crash in New York's Hudson River.  The two people in the plane survived because the female pilot "had faith in God." Praise God!  Click here.

Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we are unafraid, even if the earth gives way, even if the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea, even if its waters rage and foam, and mountains shake at its turbulence.

Bomb Inside Soldier's Body

This is an amazing story of a bomb that got lodged inside of a young man's body while serving in Afghanistan. It is a true miracle in every way. In his interview, he quotes this scripture:

Luke 12:48 ...For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Enjoy and Praise God for miracles. Click here.

The King of the High-Wire Praises the King of Kings

Wow! Yay for Nik Wallenda, King of the High-Wire, of the Great Wallendas. Not only is he the first person to cross Niagara Falls on a high-wire since 1890, but even better, he was praising God and Jesus into his microphone as he walked across the falls. He was getting into it, when the ABC commentators cut in and cut him off. It was awesome. Praise God! The millions who were watching him do this live heard him!! Click here.

Psalm 34:1
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

NASA Specialist Axed Over Intelligent Design

“All I did was share some DVDs with coworkers, people I had worked with for years,” Coppedge told Fox News.

Good for David Coppedge for calmly standing for what he believes. He says in this video clip that he shared some DVDs, including "The Priveleged Planet" with coworkers.  (Buy the DVD here.)

Psalm 53
1 The fool says in his heart,
   “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
   there is no one who does good.
 2 God looks down from heaven
   on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
   any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
   there is no one who does good,
   not even one.

"God was looking out for them"

The spring tornadoes that are ripping through our country lately are heartbreaking. But in the midst of the destruction are little miracles....click here....

Psalm 91
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Why Whitney?

Oh, Whitney, what happened to you? You've broken everyone's hearts by leaving us so soon. Yes, Jesus loves you, but He probably wanted you to fulfill your destiny before you went to be with Him.  Click here.

Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
 1 There is a time for everything,
   and a season for every activity under the heavens:
 2 a time to be born and a time to die,
   a time to plant and a time to uproot,
 3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
   a time to tear down and a time to build,
 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
   a time to mourn and a time to dance,
 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
   a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
 6 a time to search and a time to give up,
   a time to keep and a time to throw away,
 7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
   a time to be silent and a time to speak,
 8 a time to love and a time to hate,
   a time for war and a time for peace.

Time for Tebow.

I can't not include a mention of Tim Tebow. What a great witness for God and role model for children. Click here to see an interesting interview.

Here's an article from the Huffington Post.

Here's a photo of Tebow "tebowing" - we have a new English word. Onward Christian Soldier!

Lin Love With Jesus

Jeremy Lin Plays for God. I just discovered Jeremy Lin, an NBA basketball player who professes faith in Jesus. Here is one interview with him.

Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
